Miles Burnett Announces Candidacy for Mayor of Binghamton
Binghamton, NY – Miles Burnett has officially announced his candidacy for Mayor of Binghamton, launching a campaign focused on revitalizing the city, strengthening local businesses, and ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to thrive. With deep roots in Binghamton and a career dedicated to public service, Burnett is running to bring bold leadership and real solutions to the challenges facing the community.
“I am running for Mayor of Binghamton because I love this city and I believe in its future. I know that with strong, decisive leadership, we can tackle our biggest challenges. Our city needs a mayor who will listen, bring people together, and solve problems—not just talk about them," said Miles Burnett. "Today, wherever I go in town, I hear frustration. Families cannot find safe affordable housing, businesses are struggling to stay open, and young people are leaving for opportunities elsewhere. As Mayor, I will put forward a bold vision to revitalize our city by creating good-paying jobs, filling vacant lots, and investing in our next generation. The people of Binghamton deserve a city where everyone—not just a select few—can thrive.
Growing up on the South Side, I learned the importance of public service and community from my family of police officers, firefighters, postal workers, nurses, and teachers. They are the reason I’ve spent my career fighting for policies that uplift working people and small business owners. That is exactly what I will continue to do as Mayor of Binghamton. I look forward to building a stronger, more vibrant city—together.”
Burnett will officially kick off his campaign with a Campaign Kickoff Party on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 5:30-7:30 PM at Atomic Tomes, 196 State Street, Binghamton. Supporters are encouraged to attend, hear more about his vision for the city, and pick up petitions to collect signatures to get Burnett on the ballot. Attendees can RSVP at: bit.ly/petition2025
