Miles Burnett Files Double the Required Signatures to Qualify for Mayoral Ballot Line
Democratic Candidate Demonstrates Strong Citywide Support Through Grassroots Campaign
Binghamton, NY –Democrat Miles Burnett has officially filed his nominating petitions with the Broome County Board of Elections in his campaign to become the next Mayor of Binghamton. Backed by a robust grassroots effort, Burnett submitted more than 1,000 signatures—over twice the amount required—demonstrating broad support from residents across every neighborhood in the city.
With the help of dozens of dedicated volunteers and campaign interns, the Miles Burnett for Mayor campaign collected more than enough petition signatures to qualify for both the Democratic and Working Families Party ballot lines, pending official review by the Board of Elections.
“I am proud to have filed over double the amount of nominating petition signatures from residents across the city in every neighborhood,” said Miles Burnett. “Our grassroots campaign for change in the City of Binghamton is building momentum. I am so thankful to all the volunteers that helped us gather signatures, and I look forward to connecting with more folks in our community—hearing about their concerns and sharing my plans for building a better Binghamton for everyone.”
Burnett has also earned the endorsement of the Working Families Party, further underscoring the growing coalition behind his campaign. His team collected double the number of petition signatures required to qualify for the WFP ballot line.
As the campaign moves forward, Miles will continue meeting with residents, small business owners, and community leaders to share his vision for a more inclusive, equitable, and forward-thinking Binghamton.
