NEW YORK WORKING FAMILIES PARTY ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT OF MILES BURNETT FOR BINGHAMTON MAYOR

Binghamton, NY – On Monday, the New York Working Families Party announced the endorsements of Miles Burnett for Binghamton Mayor. In the months ahead, the New York Working Families Party will work to support Miles’ candidacy and knock on doors, engage voters in Binghamton, and ultimately help him win the elections.

Candidates who apply for the Working Families Party endorsement complete a robust questionnaire and interview process. At a time when local elected officials are on the frontline of protecting our communities and democracy, NYWFP is investing deeply in races across the state to ensure New Yorkers have trusted leaders who fight for working families.

“The New York Working Families Party is proud to Miles Burnett for Binghamton Mayor. Miles started in politics as an organizer for the Working Families Party in 2014. Since then, we’ve seen him grow into an exceptional advocate for his community. Miles is exactly the leader Binghamton needs right now — he will stand unequivocally behind the needs of working families in the face of Trump’s chaos and fear. We are looking forward to working to elect a new mayor that will deliver bold, progressive change for Binghamton,” said Ana María Archila and Jasmine Gripper, Co-Directors, New York Working Families Party.

“Miles Burnett has spent his career advocating for working people and struggling families, and we’re proud to stand with him in this race,” said Jaron Knighton, Chair of the New York Working Families Party Binghamton chapter. “He understands the struggles that working families face because he’s been in the fight alongside us—pushing for fair wages, stronger tenant protections, and a government that actually works for everyday people with everyday struggles. We know Miles will bring that same passion and commitment to office, and we’re determined to help him win.”

“I’m incredibly honored to have the endorsement of the Working Families Party. My first job as an organizer was with WFP New York, working on political and issue-based campaigns to build power for working people. That experience shaped my commitment to fighting for economic and social justice, and it’s what drives me to this day. The Working Families Party has always stood on the frontlines for fair wages, affordable housing, and a government that truly serves the people—not just the wealthy and well-connected. I’m proud to stand with them in this fight, and together, we’ll keep pushing for real change in Binghamton," said Miles Burnett, candidate for Binghamton Mayor.

The Working Families Party will continue screening additional candidates and will announce further endorsements in the upcoming weeks.
